Pale yellow in color, with a quickly developing, complex nose led by quince and medicinal herbs with a hint of butter in the background. Off-dry on the palate, with an emerging fine smokiness complementing the fruity-herbal notes harking back to the scent. A medium-bodied, well-rounded wine that does not err on the side of excessive acidity, and has probably just entered the brightest period of its life.
Tasting notes by Thomas Zöbelin (November 2005)
Culinary recommendation: Serve with richly flavored meat entrées garnished with fruit, such as roast turkey stuffed with chestnuts, or braised beef with quince. Can be helpful as a bridge between main course and dessert.
